Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage: home to 90+ elephants — the world’s largest captive herd, including orphaned calves.
Elephant river bathing in Maha Oya River (twice daily) — an unmissable, deeply moving experience.
Yala National Park Safari: highest leopard density per km2 on earth. Also: sloth bears, elephants, crocodiles & 215+ bird species.

DAY 3 | SIGIRIYA – DAMBULLA – KANDY

Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO, 5th century AD): King Kashyapa’s sky palace atop a 200m volcanic plug. Climb 1,200 steps
past ancient frescoes, Mirror Wall & Lion’s Paw gateway.

DAY 4 | KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

with drumming & incense.
Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya (1821): 147 acres — royal palm avenue, giant bamboo, 4,000 plant species & an

Kandyan Cultural Dance Show: traditional drumming, fire-walking, stilt-walking & the mesmerising Ves dance.

DAY 5 | NUWARA ELIYA – ELLA – BENTOTA

Tea plantation & factory visit: full Ceylon Tea journey from bud to cup — plucking, withering, rolling, fermentation & drying.
Hakgala Botanical Garden (1861, 1745m altitude): highland garden famed for roses, ferns, orchids & Himalayan conifers.
Ramboda Falls (109m): one of Sri Lanka’s tallest waterfalls — dramatic valley plunge.
Ravana Falls (25m) & Ravana Caves: legend-laden waterfall with cool rock pools perfect for a dip.
Little Adam’s Peak (1,141m): easy hike with sweeping panoramic views over Ella Rock & the Ella Gap.
DAY 6 | BENTOTA
Beach, Whales & Water Sports
Whale & Dolphin Watching, Mirissa (seasonal Nov-Apr): one of the world’s best destinations for blue whale sightings.
Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project: five species nest here. Watch hatchlings and meet resident giant turtles.
Bentota Beach: golden sands on a calm Indian Ocean bay, ideal for swimming & relaxing.
